Getting started

Get unstuck and become a lifelong learner

What does becoming a lifelong learner look like?

Developing the skills of a lifelong learner is a key capacity of anybody who wants to develop and maintain their wellbeing & resilience and improve their capacity at school.

Our wellbeing and resilience become threatened when we are stuck. We can feel stuck with a subject, topic area, friend, relationship, or personal goal. Learning is how we can get unstuck, because usually the thing we need to DO to get us unstuck is a skill we need to LEARN.

All courses in the I Learn for Life school follow a similar format. Get unstuck and become a lifelong learner forms the foundation for all of the 7 additional courses available.

This introduction will help you determine whether this course is right for you.

If you decide to enroll, you will learn some key insights about what it means to become a lifelong learner. You will complete a survey which will help you reflect and identify elements that are helping or hindering you when learning within a specific context. You will be able to make a personal plan to develop your capacity based on your challenges, and you will be taught an evidence-based strategy to use and apply in your own environment to improve your learning potential.

This course is divided into six learning modules:

  1. Getting started
  2. Every human can learn
  3. My Learning Space Tracker - your personal report
  4. Plan to improve your learning capacity
  5. A STARR strategy to improve your learning potential.

You will be provided with a worksheet for each module. It is recommended you print out the PDF worksheet page for each module and complete the tasks when requested.

You will be able to check your knowledge at the end of the course via a quiz and complete a feedback form so we can continue to improve this program for others.
